An SDS’s Ingredients page shows the chemical ingredients in the SDS's product, including the following data on each:
● CAS: The unique ID number determined by the US-based Chemical Abstracts Service for the chemical substance.
● Ingredient: The common name of the substance.
● Amount: The proportion of the ingredient in the product, usually expressed as a percentage.
● User-Defined Records: Any data entered for the ingredient in an Ingredient-type user-defined record.
● Ingredient List Matching: Click the Show/Hide button to show or hide this ingredient data. If the ingredient matches an entry in any of your system's chemical lists (see Administration: Chemical Lists), this section shows the matching entry's details in one of the following categories, depending on the origin of the list:
● Standard Lists: Any list supplied and maintained in your system by Sphera.
● Custom Lists: Any user-created list in your system.
Note: If your site has the REACH module licensed, each ingredient might also show any or all of the following data:
● Authorization Number: The ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) number issued to authorize a substance of very high concern (SVHC) for use or import in any quantity in the European Union. (For details, see: echa.europa.eu/web/guest/support/guidance)
● Registration Number: The ECHA number issued to register any substance manufactured or imported in the EU in quantities greater than 1 metric ton or tonne (1,000 kg). (For details, see: echa.europa.eu/web/guest/support/guidance)
● Ingredient List Matching: In addition to Standard Lists and Custom Lists (see above), a third category of chemical lists is displayed:
● Compliance Lists: Sphera-supplied chemical lists pertaining to REACH regulations.
To view an SDS's ingredients:
Starting at the SDS Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:
1. Under Additional Details, click Ingredients.
The Ingredients page opens, showing the SDS's current ingredients. See above for details on each item of information. To edit any of this information, see below.
2. Expand or customize the display to view the desired data:
● To view an ingredient's user-defined data: Click the ingredient's expand () icon to see all Ingredient-type user-defined records that have been filled in for this ingredient. Click a record's expand (
) icon to see its entries for this ingredient.
● To show/hide the Ingredient List Matching area: Click the Show/Hide button at the right end of this area's title bar.
● To sort the Ingredient List Matching area by chemical list or by ingredient: In the menu in the upper left corner of the Ingredient List Matching area, select the desired sort option.
● To show/hide certain types of chemical lists under Ingredient List Matching: Select (to show) or clear (to hide) each list type as desired: Standard Lists, Custom Lists, Compliance Lists.
