Chemical Attachments

Note: This feature requires the Chemical Inventory module licensed at your site.

A chemical attachment is a file attached to a chemical to provide supplementary data. A single chemical can have any number of attachments. Unlike SDS "general" attachments, which are easily assigned to multiple SDSs, chemical attachments are defined individually for each chemical. To add an attachment to a chemical, you either specify a path to the file's location or upload the file into your Comply Plus system. You can also enter a date (such as the date when the attachment was published or when it was added to the chemical) and additional comments, if desired.

Chemical attachments can be added by both Corporate users and local site users. When a Corporate user adds an attachment to a chemical, the attachment is visible to users viewing that chemical from any site. When a local site user adds an attachment to a chemical, the attachment is visible only to users viewing the chemical from that same site.

To view a chemical's attachments:

Starting at the Chemical Home page (How do I get there?), do the following:

1.      Under Additional Details, click Attachments.

The Attachments page opens, showing the chemical's current attachments.

Note: If you are a local site user, any attachment appearing in blue boldface was added to this part by a Corporate user. Any attachment appearing in non-boldface was added at your site.

2.      Find the attachment you want to view and click its view () icon.

The attachment opens in a new window.
